Tim was born and raised in Madera, California, the first son of grain farmer Jack Desmond and homemaker mom Nelle. He graduated Madera Union High School in 1964 and attended, on scholarship, California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA. He worked various jobs and attended Fresno City College off and on for five years. Then in 1970 completed 60 units at FCC and transferred to Fresno State College, Graduating from California State University Fresno on January 25, 1974 with a Bachelor if Arts degree in Zoology. He continued as a post grad at CSU Fresno in the Department of Education, earning his Teaching Credential in June 1975. Madera Unified Scchool District hired him to teach science at Thomas Jefferson Jr. High. In 1985 he accepted an offer to teach biology, chemistry and physics at Firebaugh High School. He is currently teaching chemistry at Firebaugh High. The teaching for 31 + years is one thing. The writing and art career is another thing.
